Pet Urine & Rug Odor Treatment

Rugs A Bound provides professional pet urine and rug odor treatment for customers in Valdosta and surrounding South Georgia communities. Urine can pass through the pile into a rug’s foundation, so effective treatment may need to reach deeper than the visible surface.

01

Locate affected areas

We identify known and suspected contamination before selecting pretreatment and cleaning steps.

02

Reach contamination

Specialized or enzyme treatment, washing, rinsing, and additional hand work may be used when appropriate for the rug.

03

Set honest expectations

Results depend on fiber type, dye stability, prior cleaning attempts, and the age and severity of contamination.

Why Surface Treatment May Not Be Enough

What you smell may be deeper than what you see.

An area rug is more than the fibers visible on its surface. Liquid can move through the pile and into the foundation of the rug. Depending on the accident, it may also reach the underside.

That is one reason an odor can seem to disappear after a surface treatment and then return later. Deodorizing the face of the rug does not necessarily remove contamination held deeper in the textile.

When the rug’s construction, dyes, and condition permit, professional treatment can address affected material more thoroughly.

1

Surface & Pile

The visible portion of the rug may show the original accident or stain.

2

Rug Foundation

Liquid can move beneath the face yarns and become held within the rug’s structural foundation.

3

Back of the Rug

More substantial accidents may pass through the rug completely, increasing the area that needs attention.

Our Approach

Treatment depends on the rug and the contamination.

There is no single pet-treatment formula for every area rug. Fiber, dyes, construction, condition, previous treatments, and the extent of the contamination all matter.

01

Inspect

We inspect the rug and discuss what is known about the accident, odor, previous cleaning, and areas of concern.

02

Identify

Known and suspected affected areas are evaluated so treatment can focus on the contamination rather than simply covering the odor.

03

Treat & Clean

Specialized or enzyme treatment, washing, rinsing, and additional hand work may be used when appropriate for the individual rug.

04

Dry & Re-Evaluate

After controlled drying, the rug is inspected again so remaining concerns can be evaluated before the work is considered complete.

Honest Expectations

Pet treatment is not a one-size-fits-all guarantee.

Fresh contamination in a stable, washable rug can present a very different situation from an old accident in a sensitive textile. Previous home treatments can also affect what is possible.

Our goal is to evaluate those factors before work begins and explain concerns rather than promise a result that the rug may not allow.

What Can Affect the Outcome

Several factors matter.

01

Fiber

Wool, synthetic fibers, and specialty fibers can respond differently to contamination and treatment.

02

Dyes

Dye stability helps determine which treatment and cleaning procedures are appropriate.

03

Time

The age and severity of contamination can influence both staining and odor-removal results.

04

Previous Treatment

Products or cleaning methods previously used on the rug can change the condition we encounter.
